Mitchell Schuster Chairs MSF’s Litigation Department and is the Administrative Partner of the firm. Mr. Schuster is a skilled and experienced litigator with substantial jury trial experience who has handled complex civil matters in State and Federal Court. His practice is concentrated in general business and commercial matters where he has represented corporations, insurance carriers and individuals in a wide variety of matters including business-torts, employment issues, insurance disputes, as well as intellectual property litigation.
In addition to his litigation practice, Mr. Schuster counsels members of the NFL, NBA, NHL and MLB as well as recording artists and talent in the motion picture and television industries in a wide variety of practice areas including crisis management, estate and insurance planning, formation and administering of charitable entities, endorsement and appearance agreements and investment opportunities. Mr. Schuster also works with these celebrities and athletes in pursuing recovery from fraud and assisting them in all aspects of new business ventures.
Mr. Schuster has more than 20 years of experience in providing counsel in crisis management situations. As a crisis specialist, Mr. Schuster has worked extensively with professional athletes, entertainers and high net-worth individuals to prepare for and respond to specific challenges and threats they face, including blackmail attempts, criminal investigations, family law related issues, asset recovery, nightclub assaults and photo, video and texting scandals. Mr. Schuster’s unique skill-set and extensive law enforcement contacts in conjunction with his ability to identify, assess, manage and respond to these risks and critical events has helped preserve his clients’ reputations and avoid the negative impact on their personal and professional brands.

Before joining MSF in 2000, Mr. Schuster was a principal of DiJoseph, Portegello & Schuster PC where he was lead trial attorney in the firm’s litigation group.
Represented New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul in an invasion of privacy law suit against ESPN and its reporter Adam Schefter.
Secured a multi-million-dollar verdict on behalf of a luxury hotel and its insurer in a four-week jury trial in the United States District Court in Boston arising from a deadly hotel fire.
Mr. Schuster regularly leads crisis management presentations for professional sports teams, entertainers and high net-worth individuals and their families, to prepare for and respond to specific challenges and threats they face, including blackmail attempts, criminal investigations, family law related issues, asset recovery, nightclub assaults and photo, video and texting scandals.
