Thomas A. Neufeld has been engaged in the practice of real estate law for over 30 years. He has extensive experience in a broad range of commercial and residential transactions for business entities, not-for-profit organizations and individual clients. His practice includes sales, acquisitions, leases, financing and construction-related agreements.

Mr. Neufeld’s transactional work includes sales, purchases, building leases, space leases, subleases, long-term ground leases, property management agreements, mortgage financing, non-disturbance agreements, easements, architect agreements, owner-contractor agreements and other development agreements involving commercial buildings, office buildings, industrial properties, schools, healthcare facilities, apartment buildings, co-op and condominium buildings, and individual units. He has represented clients on major sophisticated development projects involving the sale or leasing of floor area development rights or air rights. Mr. Neufeld’s other work includes real estate tax exemption applications and renewals, conservation easements, mechanic’s liens, real estate brokers’ agreements, and consultants’ agreements.

Prior Experience

Before joining MSF in 2016, Mr. Neufeld was a shareholder at the law firm of Anderson Kill & OIick, PC in its real estate department for 14 years, following a merger with Mr. Neufeld’s prior law firm DeForest & Duer, where he was a partner and associate for 14 years in its real estate department.

Representative Matters

Represented owners of sites for development of mixed-use buildings and commercial buildings, including long-term ground leases and development rights.

Represented business and not-for-profit organizations regarding their real estate needs, including sales, purchases, leases and subleases of properties.
