Jeff Weingart is a Partner at MSF and Chairs the firm’s Intellectual Property Group. Mr. Weingart provides intellectual property and technology-related legal advice to clients in a broad range of industries with respect to both litigation and transactional matters. Mr. Weingart regularly represents clients in disputes, litigations, arbitrations and related workouts involving all aspects of intellectual property, including matters arising from the development, commercialization and misappropriation of technology, content and other assets covered by copyright and trade secret laws, patents, trademarks, and other statutory and common law constructs.
In addition, Mr. Weingart regularly advises clients with regard to intellectual property and technology issues arising from a wide range of transactional matters, including those involving licenses of intellectual property, software and other technologies; technology development and outsourcing agreements; sales, distribution and royalty agreements; corporate M&A transactions; and joint ventures.

Prior Experience
Before joining MSF in 2009, Mr. Weingart was a principal of Fish & Richardson, following a 17-year stint with the IP and technology law firm Brown Raysman Millstein Felder & Steiner LLP. Prior to practicing law, Mr. Weingart worked in the newspaper field for a number of years, including as the managing editor of a weekly computer industry trade newspaper.

Represented generic pharmaceutical company in successful trial at the U.S. Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, clearing the way for the client to register its house trademark over the objections of opposer.
Represented provider of texting and video application in a federal suit in which the plaintiffs asserted trade secret misappropriation and breach of contract claims in connection with alleged video technology.
Represented provider of financial information against copyright infringement claims asserted by publisher of financial newsletters.
Represented provider of vacuum cleaner parts in a federal patent infringement lawsuit commenced by rival supplier of vacuum cleaner equipment.
