Jeffrey Weingart

Jeff Weingart is a partner in the Litigation Group at Meister Seelig & Fein LLP and is also active in the firm’s Entertainment and New Media practice. For more than 20 years, Mr. Weingart’s practice has focused on a broad range of litigation and transactional matters related to information technology and computer software, proprietary data, digital content, e-commerce and the Internet. He regularly represents clients in disputes and workouts involving all aspects of intellectual property, including cases arising from the development, protection, commercialization and misappropriation of technology, software, media, content and other assets protected by copyright and trade secret law, patents, trademarks, rights of publicity and other common law rights. In addition, he has litigated and arbitrated numerous cases related to system development and implementation projects, as well as disputes related to business process outsourcing and consulting services agreements. In the transactional area, Mr. Weingart regularly structures and negotiates complex commercial agreements related to the development, licensing and monetization of technology, data and content across a broad spectrum of platforms and industries. He regularly represents clients such as software development firms, corporate IT users, medical services providers, consumer goods manufacturers, insurance and financial services companies, publishing concerns, record companies, and providers of educational and entertainment-related content.

Mr. Weingart is a co-author of two legal treatises entitled "Doing Business On The Internet: Forms & Analysis", Law Journal Press, a division of ALM Media, Inc., 1997 and "Information Technology Litigation: Law & Analysis", Law Journal Press, a division of ALM Media, Inc., 2008.

Prior to practicing law, Mr. Weingart worked in the newspaper field for seven years and was the managing editor of a major computer industry trade publication.

Before joining Meister Seelig & Fein, Mr. Weingart was a principal of Fish & Richardson PC, an international law firm and one of the largest in the United States practicing intellectual property law. Prior to that, he spent 17 years with technology law firm Brown Raysman Millstein Felder & Steiner LLP.
