Rowena J.S. DeLeon is an associate in the firm's Intellectual Property Group. Ms. DeLeon has extensive experience counseling clients with regard to trademark and copyright matters including trademark clearance and enforcement, trademark prosecution, copyright protection, right of publicity and right of privacy, unfair competition and licensing. She also regularly conducts review and clearance of product packaging, advertising materials, point-of-purchase materials, press releases, shelf-talkers, sales and marketing materials, website content, television shows, print advertisements and promotional materials.
In addition, Ms. DeLeon has drafted, reviewed and negotiated a broad range of intellectual property agreements, including license agreements, sponsorship agreements, celebrity spokesperson agreements, purchase and consent agreements and trademark co-existence agreements.
Ms. DeLeon's trademark and copyright enforcement experience includes working with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection to stop counterfeit, gray market and infringing goods from entering the United States.
Prior to joining Meister Seelig & Fein, Ms. DeLeon was an associate at a leading New York law firm where she managed clients' worldwide trademark portfolios. She also has extensive in-house experience at a major consumer goods company where she was responsible for managing a diverse domestic trademark portfolio.
Ms. Deleon obtained her law degree from Pace University School of Law (J.D. 2005). She also obtained a master's degree in Business Administration from the University of Connecticut (M.B.A. 1999).
She is admitted to practice law in the States of New York and Connecticut, and in the United States District Courts in the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York.
