Adam has achieved recent successes for clients whose businesses span a wide range of industries, including negotiating a recovery on behalf of partner in a medical practice group whose billings had been improperly diverted, reaching a favorable pre-trial settlement on behalf of an industry leading internet analytics company, and conducting a successful arbitration on behalf of a hedge fund resulting in the recovery of a million-dollar foreign investment.
In his career, Adam's accomplishments include obtaining the dismissal of federal criminal securities fraud charges brought against a former NYSE specialist, and many years spent working on behalf of Securities Investor Protection Act Trustee Irving Picard as court-appointed counsel for the liquidation of Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC. While working on behalf of Mr. Picard, Adam was a lead member of litigation teams that brought claims to recover stolen money from members of Madoff's immediate family, and from global financial institutions that enabled the Ponzi scheme to take place on an international scale.
For many years, Adam has dedicated his time to the pro bono representation of individuals seeking asylum in the United States to escape persecution and violence based upon their HIV status or sexual orientation.
Adam is a graduate of the Columbia University School of Law where he was a Stone Scholar and staff member of the Journal of Law and Social Problems. He has also been recognized as a New York Super Lawyer for the past several years.
