Sidney D. Bluming has practiced in the corporate, commercial and intellectual property areas for over 40 years, representing private companies, including manufacturers, designers, retailers, distributors, software developers and consultants, as well as senior executives, celebrities, fashion models and athletes in engagement, employment, termination, sponsorship, endorsement and other major transactions. He has diverse and extensive experience in general business, corporate and commercial transactions, involving all phases of corporate matters and transactions, and has been doing intellectual property licensing, counseling and dispute resolution (trademark, copyright, software, domain names) for over 35 years, having written and testified as an expert on numerous occasions, and appeared as a panelist on numerous trademark licensing panels at the Licensing Show at the Javitz Center in New York.
Over his career, Mr. Bluming has impacted well over 1000 license agreements. Mr. Bluming has been involved in significant celebrity license and endorsement deals, representing the celebrities and athletes in some, and retailers and manufacturers in others, including public companies for which he acted as special licensing counsel. He has represented television and film performers, directors, producers and writers. Mr. Bluming also has extensive arbitration experience, handling matters throughout the US, and a significant ICC Arbitration in Italy. He sits as an arbitrator having served for over 16 years as a member of the Panel of Arbitrators of the American Arbitration Association, and is also on the panel of the National Arbitration Forum. Mr. Bluming has an active international - cross border practice and is the founding US delegate to an international network of lawyers covering 160 cities in 40 countries throughout the world. Mr. Bluming is a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York and American Bar Association (and a member of the intellectual property section.
